"Being taught by Eric is quite thrilling and he is an exemplary teacher!"
Gwendolyn H., age 11
"Eric is a good teacher. He lets you work at your own pace, and sometimes choose your own songs."
Mickie W., age 10
"I highly recommend my son's piano teacher, Eric Glickrieman, who teaches out of his home in Berkeley. He teaches improvisation, blues, and jazz, as well as classical, and has students of all ages and levels. He teaches theory and improv from the get-go. Eric is an amazing musician -- a composer and excellent pianist himself. He seems to somehow gently inspire kids to practice. My son looks forward to his lessons, and I have been so gratified, as a pianist myself, to find someone who can meet my son at his level but who I feel confident will still be a great teacher for him when he's advanced. Eric is super friendly, kind, and fun, to boot -- and he's a parent, so he understands children. "
Jenn, Mother of two students
"My twin ten year old boys have been studying piano with Eric for five years now. They have become more accomplished at piano than I had ever hoped. Indeed, one of the best moments of my day is when I find time to sit and listen to them play. Eric has helped them develop in different ways: one plays more by ear and has developed improvisation skills, the other practices enough that he is developing some classical level "chops". For much of our time at home, someone is playing the piano. When friends come over, they play the piano together. I am grateful to Eric's skill as a teacher because it has brought so much live music into our house."

"Eric has been our son's piano teacher for the past seven years. He is a fabulous teacher and mentor to our now almost 15 year old. Our son really looks forward to his lessons and Eric has taught him not only how to play music, but also about music theory. As a result, our son has grown as a musician (and placed very well at all his summer music camps-they all give music theory as part of the audition.) Eric has helped support a life-long love of playing music while instilling a deep understanding of the discipline involved. He strikes the right balance between making it fun and taking it seriously. I highly recommend him for music lessons.
Great teacher plus Great creative force=part of the solution."

"I enthusiastically recommend Eric Glickrieman as a piano teacher. He is an accomplished pianist, an experienced teacher and a lovely man who made a great connection with both my children. My experience is that he is particularly good at finding the balance of how to encourage each child and be flexible to the music they want to play, while making sure each piece and lesson helps further their musical skills and education.
